New DelhiThe Indian Army displayed a rebuilt Turkish armed drone Yiiha on Monday as part of the 54th Vijay Diwas celebrations. The drone was shot down by India on May 10 during Operation Sindoor. The multi-role drone's Kamikaze class was on display at a Vijay Diwas celebration organized by Army Chief Gen. Upendra Dwivedi. Targeting Jalandhar, the drone was equipped with 10 kg of explosives.
The drone had a 190-kilometer range and could carry a 10-kg explosive payload.Launched from Lahore International Airport, the drone was traveling 2,000 meters in the direction of Jalandhar. It was equipped with a 170cc two-stroke engine, a 190 km range, a 2 meter wingspan, and a 10 kg explosive payload.
During the May 7β10 hostilities between the two nations, Pakistan employed numerous Yiiha single-use attack unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) to target various Indian military and civilian installations. However, the Indian military shot down nearly all of the drones.
