"Visibility in Delhi and parts of northern India is predicted to be impacted by early-morning fog. Flight operations may be impacted by abrupt decreases in visibility during these hours. The airline wrote on X, "Our teams will stay fully prepared throughout the night, monitoring the weather minute by minute."
Before heading to the airport, travelers are advised by IndiGo to check the status of their flights. Additionally, those affected by these interruptions are eligible for a refund.
"We genuinely appreciate your patience during these seasonal disruptions, and we recognize that waiting is never easy. We advise checking the most recent flight status via before heading to the airport. If your flight is affected, you can easily select a different option or use the added advisory to request a refund.
Dense fog has severely hampered visibility in the nation's capital and other parts of northern India. Road, rail, and air travel have all been impacted by the current weather.
At Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, up to 66 arrival and departure flights were canceled on Saturday.
Delhi Airport issues a warningAdditionally, Delhi Airport issued a notice advising travelers to check the status of their flights by staying in regular contact with their respective airlines.
"At Delhi Airport, Low Visibility Procedures are still being implemented. Every flight operation is operating as it should. For the most recent flight information, travelers are encouraged to get in touch with their individual airlines," the statement stated.
IMD problemsYellow WarningDelhi-NCR is under a yellow alert, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). A cold day warning has been issued for the afternoon, and the department predicts that the area will experience moderate to dense fog in the morning and evening.
This implies that low temperatures will persist throughout the day, increasing the likelihood of cold weather.
The weather in Delhi is not anticipated to improve much despite the arrival of a western disturbance. Pollution levels will probably continue to rise in the upcoming days because wind speeds are still extremely low.
